Account & Registration
Yes, absolutely. The 7-day trial is completely free. No credit card required, no hidden costs. After 7 days, the trial simply expires – unless you decide to upgrade to Premium.
Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app. All your data will be deleted immediately and irreversibly. This includes all aliases and received emails.
Yes, under Settings → Account → Change Email. We'll send a confirmation email to the new address. The change only becomes active after confirmation.
Tap 'Forgot Password' on the login screen. We'll send a reset link to your registered email address. The link is valid for 24 hours.
Yes, you can sign in with the same account on multiple iOS devices. All aliases and emails are automatically synchronized.
Aliases & Inboxes
Trial: 5 aliases. Premium: Up to 50. More than enough for most users. Need more? Email us at support@fae-mail.com — we'll find a solution.
Currently, we generate alias names automatically (e.g., 'blue-tiger-42@fae-mail.com'). Custom alias names are planned for a future version.
You can pause or delete an alias. Paused: The alias still receives emails silently but hides them from view. You can resume it anytime. Deleted: The alias and all associated emails are permanently removed after 30 days.
Custom domains are planned as a future Premium feature. Currently, all aliases use the @fae-mail.com domain.
Active aliases: Emails are stored indefinitely. Disabled aliases: Emails remain accessible for 30 days, then they're automatically deleted. You can manually delete emails at any time.
Reply-Only & Sending
You can reply to received emails – but you cannot compose new emails (no 'Compose'). This isn't a bug, it's a feature: It protects against spam abuse and makes FAE more trustworthy to email providers. Your real address always stays hidden.
Open a received email in FAE and tap 'Reply'. We route your reply through our servers – the recipient only sees the alias as the sender. Your real email address remains completely hidden.
Trial: 5 replies per day. Premium: Unlimited replies. The trial limit protects us from abuse.
Yes, you can attach files up to 10 MB per reply. Supported formats: PDF, images, documents. For security reasons, executable files are blocked.
Sounds like it, but it's not. Reply-only has three major advantages: 1) Spammers can't abuse FAE, 2) Email providers trust reply-only domains more (better delivery), 3) Focus on what FAE does best: protecting privacy. For your complete email workflow, you continue using your main account.
Privacy & Security
No. Never. Not ever. We're funded exclusively by subscriptions, not your data. No tracking, no analytics, no sharing with third parties. That's our promise.
Our mail infrastructure runs on AWS eu-west-1 (Ireland) and Neon EU (Frankfurt). Your data stays in the European Union.
Emails are stored with AES-256-GCM and transmitted with TLS 1.2+. This protects data at rest and in transit.
FAE is not an end-to-end encrypted messenger. Content is processed on our servers to deliver, display, and route replies. We do not sell or monetize message content.
Yes, 2FA is optionally available. You can enable it in Settings. We support authenticator apps like Google Authenticator, Authy, and 1Password.
Payment & Subscription
Billing runs through the Apple App Store. Current prices: Premium €5.99/month or €49.99/year.
Go to Settings → Subscription → Cancel. Your subscription runs until the end of the current billing period. Your account and aliases are kept for 30 days, then deactivated.
Yes, 30 days. Not satisfied? Email us at support@fae-mail.com and we'll refund the full amount – no questions asked, no ifs or buts.
Yes, anytime. Switching from monthly to yearly: Your remaining monthly time is credited. Switching from yearly to monthly: Your yearly subscription runs until the end of the term.
Technical
FAE requires iOS 17 or higher. The app is optimized for iOS 18. Older iOS versions are not supported.
Not currently. We're focusing on iOS first to provide the best possible experience. An Android version is planned for 2026.
You can read previously received emails offline. To receive new emails and to reply, you need an internet connection.
Yes, under Settings → Privacy → Export Data you can download all your emails as an .mbox file. The format is compatible with most email clients.
